Equipment Resources

Bat Sizing - The right size bat is the key to hitting. Getting a bat that is too light, short, long or heavy can impact the player's swing dramatically. We recommend using a bat sizing chart when purchasing a bat for your daughter. Many retailers will let your daughter try out the bat in store as well.  Bat Sizing Chart - https://www.demarini.com/en-us/explore/how-to-choose-a-bat/fastpitch

Glove Sizing - A good, well fitting glove is key to your daughter's success in fielding and catching the ball.  It is important to find the right glove for your daughter. We do not recommend the colorful, vinyl gloves.  While the youngest girls like these gloves, they don't typically "help" them with catching the ball.  Here are size recommendations, based on age:

Age 6 and under - 9" to 10.5" glove

Age 7-10- 10.5" to 12" glove

Age 11 and over- 11.25" to 12.5" glove.

Batting Helmet - The batting helmet the majority of our players use is the Rip It helmet, in Royal Blue. Each player must have their own helmet. This helmet isn't required but the majority of our players have it. This helmet is available at retailers such as Dave's Sport Shop (Maple Grove, Dicks Sporting Goods, Amazon and more)  Here is what the helmet looks like https://www.ripit.com/products/vision-pro?variant=46455058387

Fielding Mask - A fielding mask is highly encouraged in softball. Not only does it protect the girls faces and teeth, it builds confidence in their fielding. The majority of our players use the Rip It Facemask. This is available at several retailers including Dave's Sport Shop, Amazon, Dick's Sporting Goods and more.  Here is the link to what this looks like- https://www.ripit.com/products/defense
