Winter Pitching Clinics
Our Softball Pitching Clinic is designed for pitchers of all skill levels who want focused instruction in pitching fundamentals, mechanics, and performance. Whether the goal is to build a strong foundation, refine specific skills, or gain confidence on the mound, this clinic offers targeted coaching in a supportive environment.
Participants will work with experienced instructors through a combination of drills, skill demonstrations, and practice repetitions that emphasize proper mechanics, balance, and power development. Instruction will focus on arm action, stride, release consistency, accuracy, and efficiency to help each pitcher improve overall effectiveness and performance.
Clinics are available at the Community Education Center in St Michael and the Furniture & Things Event Center in Elk River to provide times and locations to fit your schedule.

Our clinics are open to:
- 10u – 12U players looking to strengthen fundamentals
- 14U (non-club) players ready to refine mechanics and build advanced skills
- Athletes are grouped by age and experience to ensure proper pace and instruction.

What to Bring
Players should bring a bag containing:
- Fielding facemask (must be worn during all skills clinics)

Meet the Instuctor
Lori George has been a pitching instructor for nearly 20 years and has been involved in fastpitch softball since the age of 11.
In addition to leading pitching clinics and lessons, Lori currently coaches Varsity Softball at Blaine High School and a 16U team during the summer season.
Her instruction focuses heavily on proper pitching mechanics while building speed and accuracy. Lori especially enjoys teaching movement pitches and emphasizes the importance of developing a positive mindset in the circle.

Meet the Instructor
Chelsea Thomes brings a high level of collegiate and high school coaching experience to STMA Girls Fastpitch. Chelsea has served as a Pitching Coach at the College of St. Benedict (2013 and 2022–Present), Upper Iowa University (2013–2014), and Missouri Southern State University (2014–2018), as well as Head Coach at Monticello High School from 2018–2022, including a state tournament appearance in 2022.
At the collegiate level, she has coached the MIAC Rookie of the Year (Pitcher) in 2023 and the MIAC Pitcher of the Year in 2024.
Chelsea’s instruction emphasizes strong pitching mechanics, consistency, mental approach, and competitive confidence in the circle
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can register?
Any athlete within the listed age groups, regardless of experience level. Beginners are welcome.
Do players need to bring their own equipment?
Yes. Players should bring a glove, helmet, bat, water bottle, and indoor shoes.
Will catchers be provided?
No. Pitchers must bring their own adult catcher.
Can a friend or sibling catch if they wear catchers gear?
No. For this clinic an adult catcher is required.
How are groups divided?
Groups are limited to 6 pitchers, allowing instruction based on age and skill level to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
Can my athlete attend multiple clinics?
Absolutely. Many players participate in both off-season and skill-specific clinics to maximize their development. To maximize the number of pitchers that are able to attend we request that each athlete limit the number of sessions to 3.
Who leads the training?
Our coaching team includes experienced youth coaches, former high-school and collegiate players, and guest instructors who specialize in pitching.
How do I register?
Registration opens online prior to each seasonal program. Space is limited to maintain small group sizes.
