2025-2026 Volunteer Information
St. Michael–Albertville Girls Fastpitch Association (STMA GFA) depends on our families to support tournaments, concessions, field operations, fundraising activities, and association events. Our volunteer program helps keep registration fees stable and ensures a quality experience for all players.
Each family is required to fulfill volunteer hours during the season or submit payment in lieu of volunteering.
All volunteer opportunities will be managed through Crossbar’s Volunteer Registration.
Volunteer Requirements
- 4 volunteer hours per player for the Spring/Summer season
These hours must be completed during the current season (January - August 2026).
Volunteer hours are association hours, not team hours. Any team-level help requested by coaches does NOT count toward the association requirement.
Buyout Policy
Families will have the option to buy out their volunteer hours at the time of registration by paying $400 per player.
Injury or Withdrawl
Players that withdraw or are injured during the season will still face volunteer requirements. Circumstances are reviewed on a case-by-case basis which takes into account the date of player removal.
Volunteer Credit Card Payment
Failure to meet the volunteer requirements by the end of the registered season will result in a $400 charge per player to the credit card on file.
In the instance volunteer hours are not completed and the credit card on file doesn’t clear, a new credit card must be provided or the player will NOT be allowed to register for upcoming seasons.
Penalties for No Shows
If you are signed up for a volunteer shift and do not complete that shift, for whatever reason, you will be charged:
- 1st offense - $50
- 2nd offense - $100
- 3rd offense - Credit card charged full volunteer requirement amount of $400
*Canceling a volunteer shift within 48 hours will result in no-show fees.
Types of Volunteering
Volunteer opportunities will be posted throughout the season and may include:
- Concession stand shifts
- Field setup and tear down
- Tournament volunteer roles
- Equipment handout/return
- Association fundraising events
- Other board-approved opportunities
All available opportunities will be visible in Crossbar Volunteer Registration once families complete their registration.
Additional Ways to Fulfill Volunteer Requirement
- Travel coaches will receive volunteer credit for only the player they are coaching. Teams will be allowed no more than one (1) head coach, two (2) assistant coaches.
- Board Members will receive volunteer credit based on STMAGFA board bylaws.
Please note: Donating goods or being a sponsor does not relinquish volunteer hours.
Hardship Policy
On occasion, families experience hardship and are unable to fulfill their volunteer hour commitment. If you are concerned about fulfilling your volunteer hours, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteercoordinator@stmagfa.com.
