STMA Travel

Welcome to the 2026 Big West Travel 8U/10U/12U Registration Page with St. Michael-Albertville Girls Fastpitch Association.

The mission of the Saint Michael-Albertville (STMA) Girls Fastpitch Association is to provide a program for STMA area athletes to learn fastpitch skills, build confidence, and enjoy the benefits of being on a team...all while having fun!

STMA Girls Fastpitch travel program offers and opportunity for girls to try out and play in a more competitive travelling league. Travel softball requires a higher level of commitment from both the players and parents.

Each participant enrolled in the travel softball program is expected to attend all practices, league games, and weekend tournaments during the season. STMAGFA does have an unexcused absence policy which is laid out in our bylaws.

STMA Girls Fastpitch places high priority on skill development, teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship and respect for others. We recognize that individual players will have different skill levels and needs and strive to foster a positive environment.

2026 Travel - 8U - 12U

8U Registration Fees:

The registration fee includes the Big West League registration, (2) weekend tournaments, State Tournament fee, and uniform. Additional out-of-pocket costs may include entries for additional local/regional tournaments above what the board registers teams for before the season starts, a National tournament, or other expenses not already included in the registration cost. Additional tournaments are determined by teams and coaches.

Our 8U Travel registration will stop taking registrations once we get to 24 girls. If you attempt to register your daughter and receive the "full" notification, please select the waitlist option and continue to fill out the registration form, and we will put your daughter on the waiting list. Once we get another team of girls, we will increase the registration number. We will keep everyone on the waiting list posted regarding our numbers throughout the registration process. Our goal is to allow every girl to play 8U Travel who wants to, however, we need to ensure we have appropriate numbers to allow us to do so.

10U/12U Registration Fee:
The registration fee includes the $50 evaluation fee, Big West League registration, weekend tournaments, State Qualifier Tournament fee, State Tournament fee (if team qualifies), and uniform. Additional out-of-pocket costs may include entries for additional local/regional tournaments above what the Board registers teams for before the season starts, a National tournament, tryout prep clinics, or other expenses not already included in the registration cost. Additional tournaments are determined by teams and coaches.

Evaluations: (10u & 12U) A $50 Evaluation fee is included in the registration fee.

Evaluations will take place on March th for all 10U and 12U Travel players.

Commitment: Our Travel softball program requires a larger commitment from the players, parents, coaches and volunteers than Rec. Players and parents are expected to commit to 90% of the games and practices during the season. Our official season will run from April through July. Preseason/indoor practices will begin the week of April 8th. Please review these key points before determining if your daughter can commit to travel softball this summer.

1. Travel softball is a step up from Rec softball. Players will earn a spot on a Travel team roster through a tryout process (10U/12U). Playing time may not be equal for all players. During league play, coaches will play players based on development and learning and playing time will be equal. During tournament play, games will be played to win based on the coaches' decisions. Players with unexcused or repeated absences will have limited playing time in games and tournaments based on the current attendance policy.

2. It is expected that if you earn a spot on a team, you make the commitment to be at ALL practices, games, and tournaments.

Nationals:

Should your team qualify for nationals, and decide to participate, you will have additional fees which will be invoiced once your team has committed to participating. Additional fees, which will be invoiced, include the tournament fees and pins(supplied by the association) for pin trading. Additional personal costs could be costumes for the parade, team meal(s), and gift bags for trading. Teams my elect to fundraise to offset costs. All fundraising must be approved by the board.
