Winter Catching Clinics

Our Softball Catching Clinic is designed to help players develop and strengthen the skills needed to succeed behind the plate. This single-session clinic focuses on core catching fundamentals, including stance and positioning, receiving, blocking, throwing mechanics, footwork, and overall defensive awareness. Instruction is structured to provide focused repetitions, clear demonstrations, and positive feedback in a supportive learning environment.

The clinic is led by Tracy Scheunemann, an experienced catching coach with five years of coaching experience. Tracy played shortstop before transitioning to catcher in high school and brings a strong understanding of both infield and catching responsibilities. Her favorite part of coaching is building relationships with players and helping them understand the importance of the catcher position while developing confidence behind the plate.

This clinic is appropriate for both newer catchers building a foundation and experienced players looking to refine their skills.

Players should bring full catcher’s gear, a catcher’s glove, water, and indoor athletic shoes. Athletes needing to request borrowed equipment must indicate this during registration. Limited equipment is available.
